Aaliyah Dana Haughton and Aarti Mann

Aaliyah Dana Haaughton gained prominence after the release of her first album Age Ain't Nothing but a Number in 1994. The album, launched when she was only 15 years of age it went Gold. R. Kelly was a significant influence in this project which put the singer into the spotlight. In 1996 she worked alongside Jermaine Dupri and Timbaland to release her second album One In A Million which contained the number-one hit single If Your Girl Only Knew. The second album of Aaliyah entitled One in a Million, was released in 1996. It contained the number-one smash single,"If Your Girl Only Knew. She was a part of the martial arts legend Jet Li in the romantic-action movie Romeo Must Die. Joel Silver, a film producer, who was attending an award show at the time she landed the role was able to spot her. In 2002, she appeared part of the film vampire Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. The Matrix Sequels saw her playing Zee following her appearance as a character in The Matrix Reloaded (2003) and The Matrix Revolutions that same year. The performer received four Grammy nominations for 1999, 2001, 2002 and 2003. Aarti Mann is from Indian origin and was born in Connecticut. Mann is her stage name. Mann is an abbreviation for her marriage name Mankad. She uses Aarti Man as well as Aarti Mahumdar to refer to her stage name. Though she initially had small TV and movie parts, her acting career began to gain momentum around the mid 2000s. The actress has also been featured in Leverage, Suits, Grey's Anatomy as well as Grey's Anatomy. She also appeared in several commercials including Volvo and many other major car brands. She is a resident of Los Angeles where she continues to perform as an actor.
