Selena was the Tejano performer who was tragically killed during a shooting incident, sparked a Latino response that could be similar to the deaths of Elvis Presley and John Lennon's death. Selena was a hugely famous Latino performer across North America. Her music transcended the boundaries of culture and was loved by youngsters and adults. Selena is a gorgeous, glamorous performer, who has been compared with the Latina Madonna. But she's also a role model to families, active in the fight against drugs and AIDS awareness campaigns.
