Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine has a unique style that combines R&B with soul, gospel music, and R&B. Avery Sunshine's work has led her from Broadway to European events and clubs, up to the Democratic National Convention. Sunshine was born Denise White. While she is living in Atlanta now, Sunshine is originally from Chester Pennsylvania. In Chester Pennsylvania she first began her journey as a musician playing and singing at the church in town. She attended Spellman College and began to master the R&B style that is popular in Atlanta. In 2005, Tyler Perry hired her as his primary keyboardist for his stage show Meet the Browns. In 2007, Grammy as well as Tony Awards-winning vocalist Jennifer Holliday sought her out to become the choral director for the theatrical production of Dreamgirls during the National Black Arts Festival in Atlanta. Sunshine became the focus of interest during four consecutive shows at the 2008 Democratic National Convention and was then invited to sing at President Barack Obama's inauguration in 2009.
